Programs as outlined seem doable based on organization size--the goals are specific and measurable.

Impact numbers seem appropriate for amount of funding requested. Diverse communities are being targeted with specific outreach initiatives. Contracted relationship with Broward Schools demonstrates value of offered programming.

Additional evaluation related to the learning outcomes of the programs should be instituted, or if they exist, included in future grant narratives. The financial evaluations are important as is the visitor data and the reviewer is pleased to see those monitoring efforts in place.

The transition from a volunteer organization to one with paid staff is an important step that demonstrates the commitment of the organization to sustainability and continuity.

While planning for a future purpose-built home, the museum offers strong on-site programs and excellent outreach with a focus on youth most at risk for HIV / AIDS. Numerous partnerships extend reach and impact. Evaluation methods need to be strengthened for specific programs and outreach. Successful record of grant writing bodes well for fiscal stability and sustainability going forward. Increasing funds from annual fundraiser will support this goal as well. Accessibility evaluation last completed 3 years ago, cost a couple of points.

This applicant seems better suited to apply for social work and medical grants to support the good work they are doing for the HIV/AIDS community. I'm not sure this is a good fit for a major arts & culture State-funded grant. Their scope is very specific.

The World AIDS Museum is seeking general operating support to improve the community through cultural and educational exhibits and events that provide information about the history of the disease. The Goals and Objectives are well outlined with action plans to fulfill the activities stated.  The outcomes seem to be manageable and not overly ambitious to accomplish - conservative in their approach.  They have strong partnerships that provides services and audiences.  The Museum has the beginnings of an important collection of work well balanced and documenting the disease and the movement.  Information about collection care and management would have been appreciated by this reviewer.  Their impact narrative is clear and their direction for community outreach balanced with exhibition and marketing initiatives sound.  The budget and explanations are clear and their projected budget over last year's actuals are modest and conservative.  There is no reason to believe their model is not currently stable with balanced revenue streams weighing heavy on private support, as it should be.  All ADA and accessibility compliance seem to be in place.  I would have like to see more about what is happening to reach those who are incapacitated or home bound and what ADA training is taking place to reach these groups unable to attend programs in the community or at the museum.

Commendable and unique institution and mission, and the amount of community outreach and partnership is encouraging. Your acknowledgment that passive attempts to engage the community, particularly the underserved, on a painful topic will not likely work is a wise assessment of your need to be more proactive in your outreach. One thing that would strengthen your proposal is some indication of topics/content of exhibitions planned for the grant period. Your impact numbers seem conservative given your plans. Also, would like to see a more formalized evaluation plan incorporating some qualitative data collection.
