Excellent programming and educational activities!  Also good marketing and partners.  Very good application.

Thought they do not specify applicant race, discipline, institution or status, this apparent from other sections of the application.

How does this serve Pinellas & Hillsborough counties??

Excellent program. I appreciate the creativity and details of your marketing and promotion plan.

The loss in foundation income has challenged the budget. The increase in additional corporate income is attempting to bridge the gap, but the budget for programs appears to be suffering in the current year.

This is a well presented program by a well-managed and established organization, though I'm not really sure what the 40 events will be during the run of the festival.  Nor is there an indication of who the performers might be, how many are actually from nations in Africa since a goal of the organization is to "preserve African culture" rather than to share such culture.

Thank you for providing information about the anticipated number of activities and attendees. What are the metrics that will help you determine success toward your objectives? For example, 25% more people will attend than in the previous year; 5% more artists will be engaged over the previous year; or 75% of workshop participants will be able to identify direct connections between Africa and the Diaspora as captured in post-event surveys.

It could be useful to use the Arts & Economic Prosperity calculator to help you articulate economic impact of this Specific Cultural Project.

I encourage you to to complete the 504 Self Evaluation again soon.

This application demonstrates a strong commitment to fostering folk and traditional arts within Florida-based traditional groups. A very compelling strength of this application is the commitment to providing opportunities for local artists, as well as programming that draws connections between Africa and the diaspora.
Stinson Craig - Score: 91.000

Chuck Davis passed away in May 2017.

Solid application.  Diverse groups of people, but artistic specialists in various traditions.

Like their work in the local community.
