The photos in your website are breath-taking -- and right in line with your mission statement. Since this application clearly describes specific programs to fund, have you considered applying for specific cultural programs funding (rather than general program support)? The description of your programs gives me a clear picture of a mission in action. Thank you! There are glitches in the writing / proofreading that occasionally blur the picture. Fix that! I would find it very persuasive to hear you articulate how arts fit into formulating and realizing your mission. Do you see architecture as an art form? Do you see historic preservation and / or city planning as art forms? Do you see graphic and/or performing arts as an integral part of your activities (the tours and exhibits)? Do you envision, for example, a jazz ensemble playing "Slaughter on Fifth Avenue" at the opening of "Organized Crime in Miami" -- or an Apache dance team making appearances that adding to the atmosphere? Are you planning collaborations with actors to create encounters with the residents of historic sites on the bike or walking tours? If ideas like this fit your reading of your mission("preservation through education and advocacy"), they could give you ways to involve more artists in your programs, which would increase your impact. What steps are you taking to encourage people to complete surveys? Thank you for the explanatory note about the shifts in the budget due to personnel changes. More notes of this sort about other shifts in your budget (e.g., lines 17-18) would be welcome. The supplementary materials give a clear picture of the walking and bike tours. Are the posters from exhibits?

E: Activities/history listed strongly, but no clear goals/objectives to be achieved/sought; good partnerships, but not clear what they enable or make possible for this organization.
I: Clear scope and reach of impact; lacks some description beyond the numbers and demographic information provided.
M: Evaluation is relatively clear, but non-specific about what the threshold of success is or what it does for the programs in question.
A: Strong. |

This proposal would have been much stronger with clearer information about impact: how does it enhance the community financially (tourism dollars), educationally (visitor surveys) or culturally (feedback from operators of identified cultural sites). In considering accessibility, please think about not only mobility access, but accessibility for individuals with limited vision and hearing or who have intellectual impairments. |

I understand that the organization's activities supports its mission statement, but I am concern about the significant growth of the organization in current and next fiscal year. It is not clear the strategy that Dade Heritage Trust will develop to increase their contributed revenues, especially from Foundation and Private support. My recommendation is to have someone proof-reading your application before submitting it.
Schlehr Aimee - Score: 84.000
No multi disciplinary selected. Accessibility should include more than physical accessibility. |
